Meet Our Executive Team

President, Tyrone Lowe

With over 30 years in financial services, Tyrone brings deep expertise as a Chartered Life Underwriter and Certified Health Specialist, along with a master’s in international business law. He’s served in leadership roles at major institutions including Sagicor Life and Guardian Life, and currently works as Consulting Executive at NUPW Insurance Agent Inc.

Tyrone’s commitment to health advocacy runs deep – he chaired the Diabetes Association of Barbados’ 40th anniversary committee and currently leads DHAB’s Western Region. He also serves as President of BARAIFA and pioneered the CARAIFA Foundation, dedicated to kidney disease awareness.

His guiding principle: “If I can help somebody as I pass along, then my living won’t be in vain.”

1st Vice President, Richard Alleyne

Richard served as Harbour Master at the Port of Barbados for 30 years before a life-changing diagnosis in 2011. After successfully overcoming prostate cancer through radical prostatectomy, he found a new purpose in helping others navigate their health journeys.

Believing his survival was meant to serve others, Richard joined DHAB to focus on educating the community about non-communicable diseases. He’s passionate about empowering people with knowledge to live well and combat conditions that share common risk factors, turning his personal experience into a mission of hope and health advocacy.

2nd Vice President, Betty Alleyne

After a distinguished 30-year career in banking and financial services, Betty now dedicates her time to community service as an active volunteer with DHAB. She holds diplomas in Business Management, Financial Accounting, and Supervisory Management, with experience spanning training, customer service, and investment operations at the Barbados Public Workers Credit Union.

Betty previously served as Secretary and Chairperson of the St. Michael School Alumni Association and remains active with her church community. When she’s not volunteering, you’ll find her walking, gardening, writing plays, or enjoying time with her three dogs.

Public Relations Officer, Fern Lewis

Fern brings 25+ years of expertise in research, corporate strategy, and business development to her role at Export Barbados (BIDC), where she leads the National Innovation Challenge and Product Development Programme. Her leadership philosophy? Don’t ask “why” – ask “why not.”

A results-driven strategist with a gift for finding opportunities in challenging circumstances, Fern champions continuous improvement and believes deeply in the resilience of the human spirit. She’s an avid reader and writer who approaches both life and business with creative, sustainable solutions.

Beyond her professional work, Fern volunteers with Good to Go For Life, a registered charity supporting mental and physical well-being for those facing life’s toughest challenges.

Treasurer, Anderson Lowe

A qualified accountant who followed his heart from engineering into finance, Anderson is a Fellow of both ACCA (UK) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados. He holds an MSc in Financial Management from the University of London and has over 23 years of practice experience.

His senior-level work spans communications, mass media, financial services, and project management across local, regional, and multinational organizations. He also consults with small businesses on financial planning, tax compliance, and reporting.

Passionate about sustainability, he’s designed and maintains his own solar-powered electricity system. He and his wife Bernadine have been married for 28 years and are proud parents to Khristen and Brittnei.
