Dr. Sharlon Lewis
Cordon Bleu: You Are What You Eat
Dr. Lewis is originally from the beautiful island of St. Vincent but received her medical
degree at UWI St. Augustine/ Trinidad Campus. She moved to the BVI several years ago and now calls it home.
She started by working with the government at the BVIHSA, covering every department at the Peebles Hospital, including Surgery, Adult Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and the Emergency Room. She then spent several years working in Government Community Clinics throughout the Territory: Road Town, East End/Long Look, the sister islands of Virgin Gorda and Anegada, and even Her Majesty’s Prison.
She is now the Medical Director of The Wellness Center Medical Clinic, which aims to bring a holistic approach to healthcare with an emphasis on caring for the body, mind, and spirit through prevention.
Dr. Lewis completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Obesity Management through the University of South Wales, and focuses on managing chronic metabolic diseases, such as Obesity and Diabetes. She is the President of the BVI Diabetes Association, and a proud Rotarian.
She is always willing to educate the public about health issues in schools, churches, and businesses. These acts of service in the community earned her a Paul Harris Fellowship. As a person with ideas worth sharing, she was also invited to be a speaker
at TedX Road Town in October, 2022. All of this while being the best mother she can be to two wonderful boys and one grandson.
As an added bonus, she is fluent in Spanish, having spent some “younger” years in Cuba. As a child of God, she enjoys sharing her Christian faith with others on her church’s evangelism team. However, she is also a firm believer in the power of the Caribbean culture and enjoys the joyful sounds of soca music.
