Become a DHAB Volunteer
You Are Our Superpower
For 50 years, DHAB has been able to serve thousands of Barbadian families because of one simple truth: amazing volunteers like you make everything possible. Every screening we provide, every child we support, every life we touch – it all happens because caring people decide to make a difference.
You don’t need medical experience. You just need a heart for helping others.
Behind every successful health screening, every supportive conversation, and every life-changing program stands a volunteer who decided to make a difference. Our volunteers aren’t just helpers – they’re the heart and soul of everything we accomplish.

Common Questions
- Do I need medical training?
Not at all! While medical professionals are welcome, most of our volunteer roles require no special training. We provide everything you need to know. - How much time do I need to commit?
Any amount helps! Some volunteers come weekly, others monthly, and some help only with special events. We work with your schedule. - What if I’m not sure what I want to do?
Perfect! We’ll talk with you about your interests and skills, then help you find the right fit. You can always try different roles to see what you enjoy most. - Am I too young/old to volunteer?
We welcome volunteers of all ages (with appropriate supervision for younger volunteers). Experience and fresh perspectives are both valuable.
