Dr. Damian Cohall is a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology and the Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, The University of The West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. He has formerly held the posts of the Head of Department-Preclinical and Health Sciences, Deputy Dean – Preclinical Sciences and other key curriculum development and coordinator roles at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

He has published a number of research articles, book chapters and books within the area of ethnopharmacology and pharmacognosy. His scholarly activities are underscored with membership roles on the Frontiers Editorial Board and the Editorial Board for the West Indian Medical Journal.

He has had many advisory roles, Board memberships and chairmanships of various technical committees in the life sciences industry locally and internationally. He is also a recipient of The UWI, Cave Hill’s Principal’s Award of Excellence in Teaching, University and Public Service. He is recognised globally for his research activities by his inclusion as one of fifty scientists featured in Springer Nature’s award-winning, “What a Scientist Looks Like” public art exhibition, at King’s Cross, London in 2024; and also featured by the Royal Society of the United Kingdom for Black History Month in 2024.
