Dr. Diane Brathwaite

Black and Blue: Beat Back Diabetes

Dr. Diane Brathwaite is a Consultant Physician who completed her training at The
University of the West Indies and in the United Kingdom. She is a member of the Royal
College of Physicians (London) and holds a Master’s degree in Diabetes and a Master’s
degree in Endocrinology.

She serves as the Clinical Director at the Maria Holder Diabetes Centre for the
Caribbean Multidisciplinary Clinic, which specializes in the education and clinical
management of individuals at risk of, and living with, diabetes. Dr. Brathwaite is actively involved with the Healthy Caribbean Coalition and The Barbados Childhood Obesity Prevention Coalition.

She has also acted in an advisory capacity for several initiatives by CARPHA, PAHO, the Ministry of Health and Wellness (Barbados), and other local and regional entities. She works actively with the Special Needs Population and is a Disability Advocate.
